Code of Conduct

Swingle Bell Rock is committed to creating a diverse environment where all people are treated equitably with dignity, courtesy, and respect.

Each of us is unique and contributes to the community by the differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced, and how we think. For some, it means summoning the courage to stand up and speak out, sharing opinions or experiences. For others, it means listening with patience and empathy, creating an environment conducive to dialogue. For all of us, it means asking questions, respecting answers, being open to fresh perspectives, and most importantly, appreciating one another’s contributions to the community.

We believe our community is strongest when we embrace these principles as we work and dance together to make our vision a reality.

Shared Community Responsibility Agreement

Swingle Bell Rock believes in shared community responsibility. We, as an event, are committed to protecting the SAFETY of every attendee. “Shared” means that our community members also share in this responsibility to help uphold the safety of their fellow community members. We are committed to providing all attendees with Health, Physical and Emotional Safety. To do this, we will implement:

Health Safety

Every community member is required to adhere to the published health policy of the event. Swingle Bell Rock aims to provide what we believe is the safest and most logical environment to resume partner dancing. Community members have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their fellow dancers, by not attending any event if they are sick or are showing symptoms of Covid.

Physical Safety

Every community member is required to adhere to the published Code of Conduct Swingle Bell Rock aims to provide an environment free of harassment and threatening behavior. All dancers should be aware of the boundaries of their partner. We support everyone’s right to say “no” and/or “stop”.

Emotional Safety

Our code of conduct also applies to the emotional safety of our attendees. Every community member has the right to exist in a positive dance environment and culture. We recognize that emotional safety comes from being able to trust your fellow dancers and being able to assert your own boundaries. Every community member should be comfortable to communicate freely, openly express concerns, accept feedback, and respect opposing viewpoints without being attacked or judged. The right of a community member to wear (or not wear) a mask in accordance with event policy shall be respected. Swingle Bell Rock welcomes every community member regardless of their race, age, sexual orientation, gender/gender identity, disability, physical appearance, religion, or vaccine brand.
